Hi, I’m Merran
I am so excited to be running as your Greens candidate for Monbulk

I am a health professional, university lecturer and Monbulk local, born and raised in the Dandenong Rangers, who deeply cares about our community. I have lived in Monbulk for most of my life and have seen climate change dramatically alter our way of life.
I want to be a strong and sensible voice for our electorate, with a strong moral backbone that won’t be swayed by corporate interests. We are seeing the effects of lack of climate action more than most. The people of Monbulk are a community who appreciate green, wide open spaces and are facing increasing risk of climate related disasters.
I’ll work to make our regions fairer and greener through policies that actually deliver affordable homes, a safer climate, and a politics built on empathy and action instead of the current system and political leadership that continues to give corporations and billionaires a free ride.

The Greens track record
In the balance of power in parliament the Greens have secured:
$60 million to protect nature and get homes and businesses off gas
Renting reforms including banning no grounds evictions and rental bidding
5000 more empty homes available by making the tax on empty homes stronger
$150 million for bike lanes and pedestrian safety
Proudly supported the first Treaty in Australia
Stopped the renewal of the MoU with Israeli Ministry of Defence
Imagine what we could do with more power after the next election.
